Senior Remote Support Engineer

As a Senior Remote Support Engineer, you are an expert in one or multiple machines. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting both customers and engineers in addressing complex issues.
Below a selection of responsibilities:
- Daily contact by phone and email with our customers or colleagues. Support them in resolving issues by finding a quick and reliable solution and look for ways to prevent recurrence.
- Accurate reporting of all questions and issues in the VMI Asset Management Software.
- Actively involved in creating knowledge base articles for future use in solving the same kind of issues and questions.
- Remotely analyze data from equipment to survey current issues and OEE of the machine and provide solutions to improve the performance of the machines
- 24/7 helpline: Be available outside office hours for 1st and 2nd line remote support, up to a maximum of one week per 6 weeks.
- Incidentally visit the customer in case remote service fails and to support Preventive Maintenance if requested.
You will be part of the Global Remote Support team and work according to the VMI Global Service vision: Together with our Customers we ensure that VMI solutions have competitive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), maximum reliability and consistent high quality.
The team consists of 12 Remote Support Engineers at several locations in the world and you report to the Remote Support Manager.
The location for this vacancy is: The Netherlands (Epe), Poland (Leszno), USA (Stow) or India (Vadodara), depending on your place of residence.
We are looking for someone with the following qualifications;
- Completed bachelor’s degree (hbo) or proven ability to work and act at this level. The education should be in the field of software, mechatronics or electrical.
- At least 5 years of work experience with VMI machines.
- You have experience in PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers), Fanuc Robotics and SQL (Structured Query Language).
- Valid driver license B.
- Be accurate in reporting.
- Customer oriented / Analytic mind / stress resistant / acting as an ambassador for VMI / can-do mentality.
- Service minded and available at customer’s request.
- Willingness to travel internationally for training purpose and to support our customer if necessary.
