Control Engineer OE/R&D
Within VMI, a large number of employees are constantly working on Research & Development (R&D) as well as Order Engineering (OE) projects for our machines.
As a Control Engineer PLC you will develop software for Extruders. You work within a multidisciplinary engineering team and are closely involved in development projects from brainstorming to delivery to the customer. You create and test software on machines in your own department, but also outside the department. In addition, you may have the chance to work on customer machines on site.
Within our organization you are able to work with different collagues in which you can fall back on for specific expertise such as AI applications, cameras, et cetera.
As a Control Engineer in the department Extrusion, you are working in a multidisciplinary team providing the control software for our machines and subsystems. Both customer and R&D projects are handled by the team allowing a wide variety of tasks.
Your responsibilities are:
- The maintenance of the standard machine and development of new functionalities.
- Installation, testing and validation of control software in our machines.
- Providing support, mainly from our plant, to our field service engineers during installation or later stages in the machine’s lifetime.
- Provide technical support and feedback to the project and commercial team during the offer phase.
Finally, you can take part in the development for future solutions based on our own innovations or the implementation of new technology from outside suppliers.
You are situated locally in Germany in the department Extrusion together with 10 colleagues. The team consists of engineers for software, hardware, and mechanical design. This role is mainly based Cham with tight connection to the engineering groups in our headquarters Epe in the Netherlands.
You are interested in working in a small team with different tasks. Developing new things and optimizing existing code is interesting for you. You also match the following profile:
- You are experienced in PLC software programming.
- Working self-organized and responsible is something you like.
- Working in a team suits you and your communication skills.
- You are fluent in German and English.
- You have a general interest in machine building.
